The Journal of Earthquake Engineering (https://www.tandfonline.com/toc/ueqe20/current) is an international journal in the field of earthquake engineering that was first published in 1997. Recently, it has become an official journal of the International Association for the Seismic Performance of Non-Structural Elements (SPONSE), an academic organization established for the purpose of evaluating the seismic performance of nonstructural elements. The journal has a relatively short history, but in recent years the number of citations has increased and the Impact Factor has risen to nearly 3.  Prof. Kurata serves as  the Editorial Board of the journal for five years.
