Associate Prof. Kurata, Dr. Lin, Dr. Akazawa, and Ms. Inoue presented their research at the 18th World Congress of Earthquake Engineering held in Milan, Italy in July. Associate Professor Kurata chaired a mini-symposium: MULTI-DISCIPLINARY SIMULATIONS AND MONITORING FOR REGIONAL ASSESSMENT AND MANAGEMENT OF DISASTERS. We also hosted a dinner for graduates of the Division of Earthquake-Resistant Structure during the conference. Lin also presented his work at the International Conference on the Behavior of Steel Structures in Seismic Areas, held the following week in Salerno, Italy.
